SPRIDLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on 8/7/2025 at the Village Hall
Present:- Cllr K.Morton (Chairman), Cllr R Cowling, Cllr D Cox.
In attendance: Helen Pitman (Clerk)
Visitors: None.
1. Apologies for absence and reasons given:- Cllr M Marris. Accepted.
2. Co-option of councillor: Matthew Strong. Proposed, Cllr Morton. Seconded, Cllr Cox. Mr Strong duly signed the declaration of acceptance and took his seat.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Localism Act:- None.
4. Notes of meeting held on 7th May to be approved as minutes:-
The minutes were signed as a true record.
5. Chair and councils comments:- None.
6 Clerk’s report on matters outstanding:- The clerk confirmed she has now received the payment for last year’s grass cutting from LCC.
7. Planning matters:- To ensure a response is sent to WLDC it was agreed that all councillors are to respond to planning applications received outside of meetings. An email is to be sent to the clerk, copying in all councillors, even if there is no objection. WL/2025?00687 poultry farm: council object but as only received today, more time needed to frame reasons for objection. All comments to the clerk by 22nd July so she can form consensus of response to WLDC.
Cllrs Cox and Morton attended the Scampton meeting on 4th June and Cllr Cox sent a resume of the meeting to all councillors. The letter from Scampton was later circulated by the clerk and council agreed to support.
8. Correspondence:- Police meeting to be held on 25th September. agenda.
LALC news: Government back return of remote meetings by parish councils but not in force yet. Under new Annual Governance, councils need to have a generic email account hosted on an authority owned domain by the end of this financial year. agenda
9. Financial matters:- Council resolved to pay: H. Pitman £329.15; Glendale £379.20; K. Morton £80.68 (cheque paid at last meeting cancelled); ICO £52; K. Morton £29.85 (neighbourhood watch signs)..
Balance in accounts £16,761.69 as at 30th June 25..
10. Update on Spridlington/Welton Road:- Still ongoing. The chairman to take new photos of potholes/erosion and clerk to submit with further complaint to LCC.
11. To discuss & resolve on new speed sign and West Lindsey grant application:- Chairman met with LRSP and a sign with flashing speed/danger is proposed to be installed on Cliff Road as this is priority. The cost is £2,500 + £90 shipping and £200 for erection of post by LRSP.Council agreed that this should be sited further into the village than the existing sign which will remain as a warning on entering the village. The clerk has submitted an pre application for a grant from West Lindsey which has been approved. The chairman has completed the application ready to submit. Council resolved to go ahead with the scheme. Grant request for £2K. Council to fund remaining cost from CIL monies.
12. To discuss & resolve on contribution to clerk’s new laptop:- Resolved to pay £134, Laptop for use together with Hackthorn Parish Council.
13. Reports from outside bodies:- None
